Jafiada was six months pregnant when she and her husband had to flee armed conflict in northeast Nigeria in 2014. Her family were able to return home, but drought and conflict have created massive food shortages, and cases of malnutrition are on the rise. Now Jafiada is a mother of three and volunteers as an advocate in mother-to-mother support groups promoting exclusive breastfeeding to tackle malnutrition in her community.
